2nd Meeting of Joint Russian- Indian Commission

Event: 2nd Meeting of Joint Russian-Indian Commission on Emergency Management held in Moscow, Russia on 28th August 2024. Signatories: Working plan for 2025-2026 signed by Shri Nityanand Rai (India) and Mr. Kurenkov Aleksandr Vyacheslavovich (Russia). Key Discussion Topics: Use of space monitoring technologies for risk forecasting and emergency response. Exchange of experiences in responding to large-scale disasters. Cooperation in training fire and rescue specialists.

Outcomes: Agreement to implement the 2025-2026 working plan. Continued exchange of best practices in disaster management. Strengthened cooperation between educational and research institutions in both countries. Next meeting will be held in India in 2026. India’s Commitment: Reinforced dedication to the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and PM Modi’s 10-point agenda on disaster resilience.
