Gallantry Awards 2024

Overview:

President Draupadi Murmu presented 36 gallantry awards during the Defence Investiture Ceremony, Phase-I, held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

Award Details:

• Total Awards: 36 gallantry awards.
• Award Types: 10 Kirti Chakras and 26 Shaurya Chakras.
• Posthumous Recipients: 7 recipients received awards posthumously (Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra).

Purpose:

The awards were presented to personnel of the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and State and Union Territory Police Forces for their exceptional gallantry, indomitable courage, and devotion to duty.
