- A catalytic organization.
- Emerged from multidisciplinary work developed in India by the Design Laboratory at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (D-Lab) and the Transform Rural India Foundation (TRIF).
Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM)
Launch
Launched in June 2011 as a restructured version of the Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY).
Objective
- Sustainable livelihood enhancement for the rural poor.
- Improved access to financial services.
- Increased household income.
Name Change
Renamed Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana (DAY-NRLM) in November 2015.
Target
- Cover 600 districts, 6000 blocks, 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats, and 6 lakh villages.
- Link 7 crore rural poor households through Self Help Groups (SHGs).
- Promote livelihood collectivization.
