Guidelines for Implementation of Model Solar Village

Scheme: PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme

Key Points:

• Target: To create one model solar village in every district.
• Financial Assistance: Total ₹800 crore allocated, ₹1 crore to each village.
• Population Criteria: The population of the village should be more than 5,000 (or 2,000 for special category states).
• Reward: A grant of ₹1 crore to the village with the highest renewable energy potential.

Implementation:

The project will be supervised by the District Level Committee (DLC).
