Rajasthan to become first state to adopt ‘Road Safety Action Plan’ for 10 years.

Rajasthan to adopt a 10-year road safety action plan, aiming to reduce road accidents by 50% by 2030. The Deputy Chief Minister announced the policy to raise awareness and change behavior towards road safety rules. Action plan developed by the Transport Department’s Road Safety Cell, part of BJP government’s 100-day blueprint.

Implementation in three phases: 2025-2027, 2027-2030, and 2030-2033, focusing on speed limits, traffic signals, pedestrian safety, seatbelts, helmets, and insurance. India, a signatory to Brasilia Declaration 2015 and UN resolution on improving global road safety, targets reducing road traffic deaths and injuries by 50% by 2030.
