Governor of RBI: 1982-1985

Key Policies:

Economic Liberalization (1991): As Finance Minister, reduced trade barriers, ended license raj, opened sectors to foreign investment

MGNREGA (2005): Guaranteed 100 days of employment in rural areas

Right to Information Act (2005): Gave citizens access to information from government bodies

India-US Civil Nuclear Agreement (2005): Allowed India access to nuclear technology and fuel
