Karnataka Gig Workers Bill
- State Initiative: Karnataka becomes the second state after Rajasthan to introduce a gig workers' bill.
- Objective: Regulate social security and welfare for platform-based gig workers.
ASMITA Project
- Launch: Centre and UGC.
- Objective: Publish 22,000 books in Indian languages over 5 years.
- Led by: UGC and Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti.
- Goal: Promote Indian languages in education and make learning inclusive.
One Scientist, One Product Programme
- Launched by: Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
- Launch Date: 16 July 2024, on ICAR's 96th Foundation Day.
- Goal: Develop 100 seed varieties and 100 technologies in 100 days.
- Focus Areas: Oilseeds, pulses, climate-resilient, and bio-fortified crops.
- ICAR: Founded in 1929, HQ in New Delhi, under DARE, Ministry of Agriculture.
DIGIPIN: National Addressing Grid Initiative
- Launched by: Department of Posts in collaboration with IIT Hyderabad.
- Status: Beta version released for public comments and expert opinions.
- Features:
- Geo-coded, logical, and directional addresses.
- Accessible to the public and service providers.
- Simplifies address-related solutions for utilities and services.
Divya Kala Mela & Divya Kala Shakti
- Organized by: Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, NDFDC, KIIT.
- Participants: Divyangjan artists from six states.
- Objective: Promote inclusiveness and showcase the talents of persons with disabilities.
GRSE Accelerated Innovation Nurturing Scheme (GAINS 2024)
- Launch: Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth launched the scheme.
- Objective: Support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Start-Ups to create innovative solutions for technological advancement.
- Organized by: Defence Ministry.
Union Budget 2024: NPS Vatsalya Scheme
- Type: Scheme under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).
- Purpose: Helps parents/guardians plan for children’s future financial needs.
- Account: Can be opened for minor children; contributions accumulate until the child turns 18.
- Post-18: Funds transfer to a standard NPS account; can be converted to a non-NPS plan.
Ideas4LiFE Portal
- Launch: Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change at IIT Delhi.
- Objective: To invite ideas for eco-friendly lifestyles and inspire students, faculty, and researchers to contribute to Mission Life.
- Mission Life:
- Global people’s movement led by India, launched at COP26.
- Goal: Inspire one billion Indians to adopt sustainable lifestyles.
- Motto: Pro Planet People (P3 model).
