National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) 2.0 Portal
- Objective: Skilling Indian youth in trade disciplines.
- Eligibility: Graduates, Diploma students, Vocational certificate holders.
- Duration: 6 months to 1 year.
- Stipend: 50% reimbursed by the Government of India.
- NATS 2.0 Portal Functions:
- Registration, application, vacancy management, contract creation.
- Certification, reporting, stipend disbursal.
- Developed by: Ministry of Education, AICTE, BoATs/BoPT.
E-KYC Mandatory Under the National Food Security Scheme
- Launch: National Food Security Scheme (NFSS) was launched in October 2007.
- Objective: Provide subsidized food grains to approximately two-thirds of India's population.
- Key Features:
- Coverage: Covers 75% of the rural population and 50% of the urban population.
- Entitlements:
- 5 kg of food grains per person per month at subsidized prices.
- Rice: Rs 3/kg, Wheat: Rs 2/kg, Coarse Grains: Rs 1/kg.
- Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY): 35 kg per household per month for AAY households.
- Women Empowerment: The eldest woman of the household is considered the head for issuing ration cards.
- Implementation: Joint responsibility of Central and State Governments.
- Upcoming Change: E-KYC will be mandatory by August 15 under NFSS.
