Sports Removed from the 2026 Commonwealth Games

Sports Removed:

• Badminton
• Shooting
• Cricket
• Hockey
• Squash
• Table Tennis
• Wrestling
• Triathlon
• Archery

Reason:

These major sports were removed due to a lack of budget.

2026 Commonwealth Games:

• Dates: July 23 to August 2, 2026
• Location: Glasgow
• 10 sports: Athletics, Swimming, Artistic Gymnastics, Track Cycling, Netball, Weightlifting, Boxing, Judo, Lawn Bowls, and 3×3 Basketball

Para Sports:

• Para Athletics
• Para-Ball
• Para Swimming
• Para-Track Cycling
• Para-Powerlifting
• 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball

India's Performance (2022):

India won 61 medals, including 22 golds, at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Of these, 37 medals were from the six sports (Badminton, Cricket, Hockey, Squash, Table Tennis, and Wrestling) that have been excluded from the 2026 Games.

Breakdown of Medals:

• Wrestling: 12 medals
• Boxing and Table Tennis: 7 medals each
• Badminton: 6 medals
• Hockey and Squash: 2 medals each
• Cricket: 1 medal
