Cabinet approves 12 Industrial nodes/cities under National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
- Cabinet Approval: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, approved 12 new projects under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) with a total investment of ₹28,602 crore.
- Strategic Locations: The projects will span across 10 states, including industrial nodes in Khurpia (Uttarakhand), Rajpura-Patiala (Punjab), Dighi (Maharashtra), Palakkad (Kerala), Agra and Prayagraj (UP), Gaya (Bihar), Zaheerabad (Telangana), Orvakal and Kopparthy (AP), and Jodhpur-Pali (Rajasthan).
- Global Standards: The industrial cities will be developed as greenfield smart cities, built

“ahead of demand” with ‘plug-n-play’ and ‘walk-to-work’ concepts.
- Multi-modal Connectivity: Aligned with PM GatiShakti, these projects will feature seamless connectivity for people, goods, and services.
- Economic Impact: Expected to generate 1 million direct and up to 3 million indirect jobs, contributing to regional socio-economic upliftment.
- Viksit Bharat Vision: The NICDP aims to position India as a key player in Global Value Chains, fostering self-reliance and global competitiveness.
