DRDO unveils indigenous light tank ‘Zoravar’

DRDO on July 6, 2024 unveiled the prototype of indigenous light tank ‘Zoravar’, which is yet to undergo extensive testing. ‘Zoravar’ has been jointly developed by DRDO and Larsen & Toubro in collaboration with micro, small and medium enterprises.

It is named after Dogra general Zorawar Singh, who led a military expedition to Kailash-Mansarovar in 1841. Weighing 25 tonnes, ‘Zoravar’ has been designed for operations in high altitude and insular areas.
