Government will reorganize RPSC
Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC)
Established
Date: 22 December, 1949, after the integration of princely states (Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner had Public Service Commissions).
Origin
Based on recommendations by the Lee Commission (1923), but provincial commissions were left to states' discretion.
Appointment of Members
Chairman and Members: Appointed by the Governor of Rajasthan.
Term of Office
- Tenure: 6 years or up to 62 years of age, whichever is earlier.
- Reappointment: Not eligible for reappointment once held the office.
Resignation & Removal
- Resignation: Submitted to the Governor.
- Removal: Can only be removed by the President of India.
Administration
Secretary: An IAS officer, responsible for administrative and financial work.
Supporting Staff: Deputy Secretary, Controller of Examinations.

- Initial Structure: 1 Chairman and 2 members.
- Current Structure: 1 Chairperson and 7 members.
Historical Chairmen
- First Chairman: Sir S. K. Ghosh (Chief Justice of Rajasthan).
- Longest Serving Chairman: Shri Devi Shankar Tiwari.
- Shortest Serving Chairman: Dr. B. L. Rawat, IAS.
- Current Chairman: Sanjay Kumar Shrotriya.
