Job Description

Aristeo Construction is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to join our Risk Management team. This role will provide vital support in contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and ensuring compliance with construction regulations across our projects. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to assisting in legal matters related to our projects and organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with drafting construction contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and related legal documents to mitigate risks.
  • Resolve contractual disagreements and claims and assist in representing Aristeo in construction disputes, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Provide support in ensuring compliance with construction regulations, permitting requirements, safety standards, and environmental laws to ensure project compliance.
  • Advise management and project teams on the resolution of claims; manage outside counsel when litigation or arbitration as needed.
  • Conduct legal research on construction law issues to stay updated on relevant case law and statutes.
  • Assist in monitoring Aristeo's multi-state licenses and registration status.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of construction law principles, including contracts, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of computer software packages

Required Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • 2-5 years of combined experience in construction and legal practice (or a relevant blend of both fields).
