A fast-growing startup at the forefront of web data and AI is looking for its first data hire. We’ve gained strong traction in the developer community (40K+ GitHub stars) and have reached mid-7 figures in revenue within our first year.

We're building a customer context system that will serve as the backbone for automating workflows across product, sales, and beyond — and we need a sharp, driven data professional to lead the charge.

What you'll do:

• Build the Customer Brain : Engineer the system that aggregates all customer data and feeds context to AI agents across product, growth, and sales
• PostgreSQL Mastery : Design schemas, optimize queries, make databases fly
• Automation Everything : N8N workflows, API integrations, LLM-powered analysis pipelines
• Cross-Team Impact : Jump between product analytics, growth metrics, and revenue insights
• AI-First Infrastructure : Build the data foundation that powers autonomous decision-making

What you bring:

• PostgreSQL wizard - advanced querying is second nature
• N8N automation - workflow building and API integrations
• Data science chops - stats, modeling, ETL processes
• LLM-native - Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Devin are daily tools
• Customer-curious - you want to understand problems, not just crunch numbers
• Hex.tech experience - data viz and collaborative analytics
• Generalist mindset - comfortable switching between product/growth/marketing needs

You'll stand out if you:

• Built data infrastructure at a startup, living in SQL and automation tools
• Were the solo data person handling customer analytics to growth metrics
• Can point to data insights that directly influenced product decisions
• Built side projects with real data challenges and user feedback loops
• AI automation fanatic constantly experimenting with new workflows

About the interview

Interview Process:

1. Intro Chat (15 min) : Background, systems you've built, why customer insights excite you
2. Tactical Challenge (1-1.5 hrs) : Real-world prompt - build a feedback pipeline, design a metrics dashboard, or automate a workflow
3. Founder meeting (1 hr) : How you think about data, product decisions, and cross-functional collaboration
4. Work trial (1 day - 1 week): Get to know the team and demonstrate your skills in the field!

Salary
$160-240K + equity
