Job Description

Our client, a distinguished CPA practice located in the greater Philadelphia region (Wilmington, DE), has earned recognition as a Top 10 Small Workplace consistently since 2008. This exceptional succession opportunity positions the right candidate to assume a pivotal leadership role during a strategic transition planned for the next 2-3 years.

The firm provides comprehensive services to an established Mid-Atlantic client base spanning individual and business clients in manufacturing, wholesale distribution, professional services, commercial real estate development, construction, nonprofit organizations, and governmental entities.

Primary Duties

  • Supervise and develop tax personnel (2 supervisors, 3 staff members)
  • Prepare and oversee sophisticated tax returns: individual, partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, and fiduciary
  • Drive client relationship management and new business development efforts
  • Perform comprehensive tax research and strategic planning initiatives
  • Partner with legal counsel and professional advisors on intricate client matters
  • Evaluate and interpret estate and trust documentation for high-net-worth clients

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of public accounting or comparable professional experience
  • Current CPA license OR Enrolled Agent designation
  • Demonstrated expertise with high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, and gift tax returns
  • Proven experience interpreting estate and trust legal documents
  • Advanced proficiency in tax preparation software (CCH Access Suite preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and management capabilities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Taxation or related field
  • Experience in business development and client acquisition
  • Specialized knowledge in profit-sharing and defined contribution retirement plans
  • Advanced expertise in fiduciary taxation beyond standard compliance work

Annual Compensation : $120,000 - $175,000 (negotiable for outstanding candidates)
