Government Schemes and Initiatives

PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SAVNidhi)

  • Launched: June 1, 2020.
  • Objective: Provides working capital loans for street vendors affected by COVID-19.
  • Extended: Till December 2024 from March 2022.
  • Eligibility: Tied to States/UTs with notified rules under the Street Vendors Act, 2014.
  • Loan Details: Collateral-free loans of Rs. 10,000, with subsequent loans up to Rs. 50,000 at 7% interest subsidy.
  • Implemented By: SIDBI under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Soil Health Card Scheme (SHCS)

  • Started: 2014-2015.
  • Objective: Provides Soil Health Cards (SHC) to farmers and promotes Integrated Nutrient Management (INM).
  • Flagship Program: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
  • Recent Updates: In 2022-23, included as “Soil Health and Fertility Component.”
  • Frequency: Soil Health Cards are provided once in 3 years.
  • Additional Features: Integrated with GIS and promotes cost-effective farming.
  • Village Level Soil Testing Laboratories (VLSTL): Established for better soil testing services.

National Livelihood Mission (NLM) Enhancements

  • Launched: 2014-15, also known as Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana.
  • Focus: Rural poverty alleviation, entrepreneurship, livestock improvement.
  • Sub-missions: Livestock/poultry breed improvement, feed innovation, and extension.
  • World Bank Support: Financial assistance provided.
  • Insurance: Simplified, 60:40 premium sharing, 15% farmers' premium, covers 10 cattle units.
  • Subsidies: 50% subsidy for private fodder infrastructure (up to ₹50 lakh), State incentives for breed conservation (horses, mules, camels).

Rashtriya Udyamita Vikas Pariyojana under the Skill India Mission

  • Launch: 20th February 2024.
  • Focus: Reskilling/upskilling for competitiveness.
  • Training: 22-week comprehensive training offered offline/online/hybrid.

Flood Management and Border Areas Programme

  • Components: Flood Management Programme (FMP) and River Management and Border Areas (RMBA).
  • Funding: FMP: 90% Centre, 10% State for Special Category States; 60% Centre, 40% State for others. RMBA: 100% central assistance for flood control on border rivers.
