The central government reorganized the NITI Aayog.
Restructuring of NITI Aayog:
- Restructured by the Central Government on July 16.
- Includes senior ministers from the NDA coalition.
- PM Narendra Modi remains as Chair, with Suman Berry as Vice-Chair.
New Members:
- Full-time members: Dr. V.K. Saraswat, Prof. Ramesh Chand, Dr. V.K. Paul, and Arvind Virmani.
- Special invitees: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and others.

Background:
- Earlier, NITI Aayog replaced the Planning Commission on January 1, 2015.
- Aims for minimum government, maximum governance.
- Known as National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog).
Functions:
- Acts as India’s premier public policy think tank.
- Initiatives include 15-year roadmaps, 7-year visions, AMRUT, Digital India, Atal Innovation Mission, healthcare and agricultural reforms.
